Product Description

Stamped elbows, also known as pressed elbows, are a type of pipe fitting used in piping systems for changing the direction of pipelines. These fittings are manufactured by stamping identical material plates with pressing dies to form semi-circular or angled elbows. Once formed, the two halves of the elbow are paired and welded together to create a complete fitting. Stamped elbows are commonly used in various industries and applications where precise bends are required in piping systems.

Applications of Pipe Elbow

  • Plumbing Systems: Stamped elbows are used in residential, commercial, and industrial plumbing systems for routing water, sewage, and other fluids around obstacles and corners.
  • Process Industries: In chemical processing plants, refineries, and manufacturing facilities, stamped elbows are used to route corrosive or hazardous fluids safely and efficiently.
  • Water Treatment Plants: Stamped elbows play a crucial role in conveying water and wastewater within treatment facilities, including filtration, purification, and distribution systems.
  • Shipbuilding: Stamped elbows are employed in marine piping systems aboard ships and vessels for various applications, including freshwater supply, ballast systems, and sewage disposal.
  • Irrigation Systems: In agricultural irrigation systems, stamped elbows help to direct water flow efficiently around fields, crop beds, and irrigation infrastructure.

Manufacturing Process  Of  PIPE Elbow

  • Material preparation: Selecting suitable materials, usually metal sheets of the same material as the pipeline, such as carbon steel
  • Stamping process: Placing the metal sheet on a stamping machine and using the stamping process to shape the sheet into a semi-circular or specific-angle elbow according to design requirements and mold shapes.
  • Processing adjustment: Adjusting the semi-finished elbows from stamping to ensure that the dimensions and shapes meet the requirements, including trimming or edge finishing if necessary.
  • Pair welding: Placing two stamped semi-elbows together and connecting them through welding processes such as arc welding or gas shielded welding to form a complete press-fitting elbow.
  • Inspection and treatment: Conducting quality inspections on the welded press-fitting elbows, including visual inspection, dimension measurement, and weld quality inspection to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Surface treatment: Performing surface treatments as needed, such as rust removal, applying anti-corrosion coatings, or shot blasting, to enhance the corrosion resistance and appearance quality of the press-fitting elbows.
  • Packaging and transportation: Packaging the manufactured press-fitting elbows to protect their surfaces from damage, then transporting them to their destination for supply or storage.
