Common Types and Functions:
- Globe Valve: By rotating the valve stem, the valve disc is driven to rise or fall, thereby controlling the on – off and flow rate of the fluid in the pipeline. The globe valve has good sealing performance and can effectively cut off the fluid. It is often used in occasions where precise flow control or complete fluid cutoff is required, such as chemical pipelines and steam pipelines.
- Ball Valve: The ball serves as the opening and closing part, with a circular through – hole on it. When the ball rotates 90 degrees, the through – hole coincides with or is perpendicular to the pipeline axis, achieving the conduction or cutoff of the fluid. The ball valve is easy to operate, has a rapid opening and closing speed, and low fluid resistance. It is widely used in pipelines for transporting media such as water, oil, and natural gas.
- Gate Valve: The gate moves vertically along the centerline of the valve seat to open or close the valve. When the gate valve is fully open, the fluid resistance is small. It is suitable for the cutoff and conduction of large – diameter pipelines, such as the main pipes of urban water supply and drainage.
- Check Valve: It automatically prevents the backflow of the medium relying on the force of the fluid itself. When the medium flows forward, the valve disc opens; when the medium flows backward, the valve disc closes automatically. The check valve is often used at the outlet of water pumps and in pipeline systems to prevent liquid backflow, protecting equipment from the impact of reverse flow.
Application Fields:
- Building Water Supply and Drainage: In the water supply and drainage systems of buildings, copper valves are used to control the flow on – off, adjust water pressure and flow rate. For example, in the water pipe lines of household kitchens and bathrooms, copper valves such as globe valves and ball valves are widely used, enabling users to conveniently control water usage.
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air – Conditioning): Copper valves play a crucial role in heating, ventilation, and air – conditioning systems. In a hot – water heating system, gate valves and regulating valves are used to adjust the hot – water flow rate and balance the heat distribution among different branches. In an air – conditioning chilled – water system, copper ball valves are used to control the flow of chilled water, ensuring the normal operation of the air – conditioning unit.
- Industrial Field: In industrial production such as chemical, petroleum, and power industries, copper valves are used to control the flow of various corrosive, high – temperature, and high – pressure media. For instance, in chemical production lines, corrosion – resistant copper valves are used to transport chemical media such as acids and alkalis. During the petroleum refining process, copper valves are used to control the transportation of crude oil and refined oil products.
- Fire – fighting System: In the fire – fighting pipeline system, copper valves must have reliable sealing performance and fire – resistant properties. In case of a fire, copper gate valves and butterfly valves are used to quickly cut off or connect the fire – fighting water source, ensuring the normal operation of the fire – fighting system and providing guarantee for fire – fighting work.
