Galvanized Steel Pipe

Galvanized steel pipe is a kind of steel pipe with a layer of zinc coated on its surface. The main purpose of galvanization is to provide anti – corrosion protection for the steel pipe. The zinc layer forms a protective film on the surface of the steel pipe. When the steel pipe is exposed to moist air, water, or other corrosive media, zinc will preferentially undergo a chemical reaction, and this reaction is called sacrificial anode protection. That is, the zinc layer will be corroded instead of the steel pipe matrix, thus prolonging the service life of the steel pipe.

Characteristics:

Good Corrosion Resistance: The zinc coating can effectively prevent the steel pipe from being oxidized and corroded. Especially in some humid environments or in the presence of certain corrosive media, such as in the application scenarios of outdoor railings, water supply and drainage pipelines, etc., it can extend the service life of the steel pipe. For example, in an ordinary environment, an ungalvanized steel pipe may rust and get damaged within a few years, while the service life of a galvanized steel pipe can reach more than ten years or even longer.
Attractive Appearance: The zinc layer forms a bright and uniform protective film on the surface of the steel pipe, giving the steel pipe a metallic luster. It has certain appearance advantages in some fields such as building decoration and furniture manufacturing.
Reasonable Cost-effectiveness: Compared with some steel pipes that use special alloy materials to improve corrosion resistance, the cost of galvanized steel pipes is relatively low. Moreover, in many application scenarios, their performance can meet the requirements, making them a cost-effective choice.

Application Fields:

Construction Industry: It is widely used in building water supply and drainage systems, heating pipelines, fire-fighting pipelines and decorative components on the exterior facade of buildings (such as railings, handrails, etc.). In water supply and drainage pipelines, galvanized steel pipes can resist the corrosion caused by impurities and microorganisms in water. In terms of the decoration of the exterior facade of buildings, its attractive appearance can enhance the overall image of the building.

Industrial Field: It is used in some industrial production environments where certain requirements for the corrosion resistance of steel pipes exist, such as ventilation pipeline systems and ordinary material conveying pipelines. In ventilation pipelines, galvanized steel pipes can prevent corrosion caused by moisture and chemical substances in the air. In material conveying pipelines, they can withstand a certain degree of material friction and environmental corrosion.

Agricultural Field: It is used in the pipelines of agricultural irrigation systems. During the irrigation process, galvanized steel pipes can resist the changes in soil acidity and alkalinity as well as the erosion of moisture, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the irrigation system.
